Toys on a plane or tips I never follow
Toys go with me on my vacation. This type of equipment is almost always required. The easiest way for me to travel with toys is by car, bus, or train. When I travel by plane, I ignore all warnings that electronic items should not be in your checked baggage but should be with you throughout the journey. I rarely traveled with hand luggage only, so I had no major worries. Numerous business trips have entered my life, where luggage check-ins are rarely necessary. In addition, the company pays extra for this, and it is clear to everyone that this is not something the companies would love to do in most cases. So, how do you avoid embarrassment at an airport checkpoint?
Ever since I've been traveling because of my new job, I've been wondering how to fit a toy into my suitcase that would spice up my lonely nights at the hotel and relax me after a busy day of meetings and joint activities that seem endless. Business trips can be exciting, but most often, people are fed up with them, mainly because they involve a lot of logistics, forced smiles, and suffering in uncomfortable, usually soft hotel beds. Emergency tools, aka hand and fingers, always come in handy, and they had a lot of work on my travels. Typing on the computer during the day and taking care of the lower floor in the evening.
But I still can't help but wonder, every time I stand in a long line before airport security, how I would "smuggle" a toy in without feeling embarrassed or like the worst criminal who shoved a bag of cocaine into his anus. The biggest problem with all this is the part where you have to pull all the electronic things out of the bag and put them in a separate container. I could have done it, but I still travel for work, so I rarely travel alone. If I leave it in the bag, I risk being eliminated and checked thoroughly. Even there, I would be in the spotlight in front of my colleagues.
What are the tips of people who have traveled with toys before, at least in theory? The first, mine, of course, is to choose destinations and airports where you no longer need to separate electronic items (Frankfurt, Munich, …) from other languages. At these airports, the toy stays safely hidden from public view as long as your baggage is not eventually sent for an additional inspection.
For all smaller airports, however, the experts gave the following guidance:
- For travel, choose a smaller toy that can be stored in any small pocket of your bag or suitcase. I might also add that you choose those that look like lipstick or have a shape that does not resemble a penis.
- Ensure the toy on the control does not vibrate madly. If it is powered by batteries, remove them before the trip. If it is a toy with a rechargeable battery, empty it completely before the trip or lock it if it offers this option.
- Always put the toy, like cosmetics, in a transparent plastic bag. This will keep it clean, and the airport control will immediately see what it contains without touching the toy. You will avoid touching the toy and, thus, any inflammation.
- This applies primarily to me - do not let the unpleasant feeling and fear beat you. At the check-up, they prefer to target people who are afraid and behave suspiciously. Remember that you are neither the first nor the last to take a vibrating friend on a trip. They are more than used to this at airports. Stay calm and be proud of your acquisition in the bag.
- If you happen to get caught and the worst-case scenario happens, don't apologize for the vibrator in your bag, but calmly explain that you have one, and that's it. The security control guys should not ask any additional questions, even if the redness on your face betrays you.
- When choosing a lubricant, pay attention to the amount of liquids prescribed for hand luggage.
- Find out which countries you can travel to with erotic toys. It's definitely not India, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Maldives, Saudi Arabia, and some others. You can visit several websites to see if an item is allowed in the country you're traveling to.
If you may find it a good idea to hide some beads or anal plugs in your body, you will have to think again. If your toy contains any metal particle, the metal detector will detect it. If you check that it doesn't have any, you can try all those airports with only a metal detector. But how do those full-body scanners work? The ones where you have to put your feet on specific footsteps that are too wide for me and every time I think I look like a cowboy?
For most of these scanners, electromagnetic rays cannot reach your interior. What they draw is an anatomical avatar of your body, and they perceive what you wear on your skin or under your clothes. Some old scanners could see you completely naked. Today, this is more of an exception than a rule. Today's modern scanners can accidentally catch dense hair (braids, ponytails), hair clips, piercings, strings in a bra, sweat, and external tumors. No sign of erotic toys. However, if you don't want to be called away, put the beads in a bag or suitcase before your trip.
So, relax and be calm. If you are not too embarrassed, warn the agent before the X-ray that you have an erotic toy in your luggage. This way, he will most likely not reject you and may even be more embarrassed than you are, which is always better. You will be the winner with a slight redness on your face, he, the confused opponent. But don't bring handcuffs to the airport!
