Who the hell are they?
After Satisfyer and Lelo, two brands that have won over women worldwide, this time I present another two famous sex toy companies, Fun Factory, and JimmyJane.
Fun Factory
Dirk Bauer and Michael Pahl, two engineers straight out of the college, founded Fun Factory in Germany in 1996. Their story began with a sketchbook and Play Dough - they wanted to create a dildo that wouldn't look like a penis. Given the offer in erotic shops in the mid-90s, they wanted to create something enticing, made from body-friendly materials and with an eye-friendly look. So they left the home kitchen and set up a company along the Weser River in Bremen, best known for having all the processes from start to finish in the same place.
With their knowledge and later experience in the industry, they created erotic toys considered genuine innovations. They were the first to cover the dildo in colored silicone, introduce a rechargeable vibrator to the market, and receive a design award. All their toys are made of medical, hypoallergenic silicone, to which body-friendly dyes are added during the production process. Also, all the plastic parts of the vibrator are made of medical materials. Another feature of Fun Factory's products is the clean edge between the base and the silicone, which is vital for safe use and cleaning.
I was most impressed with the control buttons - they are well-responsive, tactile, and easy to use. They also allow you to lock the toy to prevent it from shaking loudly in the travel bag. But I was bothered by the silicone covering the toy. It accumulates dust.
JimmyJane
On the other side of the ocean, Ethan Imboden founded JimmyJane in California in 2003. He also has knowledge of engineering, but he started with design. Before embarking on erotic toys, Ethan designed for Motorola, Nike, and Ford. Like most other founders of companies that still successfully sell erotic toys today, he found out that erotic toys at the time were dull, without real life. So, he started creating unique toys for women. He admits that it is both a challenge and a problem for a man to design products for women's pleasure. Interestingly, JimmyJane hasn't designed toys till recently.
Product testing has shown them that only 20% of pleasures are physiological, and as much as 80% are emotional. Therefore, their products are beautifully designed, unique, and made to attract the user's eye. I can confirm this myself. The product is good, but the design makes it great.
JimmyJane is also known for collaborating with famous people - the cocreator of the band Gorillaz and Dave Stewart from Eurythmics.
The only JimmyJane product I have owned and yearned for a long time is Love Pods Coral. This is the most beautiful toy I have ever held in my hands: discreet and useful at the same time, although I decided to try it thanks to its appearance.
In the future, I want to have even more products from both companies between my legs, both Fun Factory and JimmyJane toys. It would be even better if Slovenian shops also gave them a chance.
