Review: Romp by Womanizer Lay-on Wave
Last year I got the chance to play with many toys. It was summer, and I wanted to spice up the hot summer nights. I tried it with the new clitoral vibrator Romp Wave.
I found it on the Lovehoney website, under the section "new". It caught my eye mainly because of the mint color. It looked playful, and I was also drawn to his shape. Even if it turned out to be bad, it was one of the cheaper toys. I knew I have to buy it.
Although marketing text on Romp's page says the toy's design was inspired by a surfboard, it reminded me more of a leaf. It was just the same to the touch - soft, light, and flexible. Besides the Wave vibrator, the package also includes a USB charging cable and cute, naughty stickers. I don't know exactly why they were next to the toy, but even if I never stick them on my computer or anywhere else, I was happy to have them.
It wasn't until I first picked it up that I realized its shape reminded me of another toy - the clitoral vibrator in the Panty Rebel set - only Wave is bigger and softer. The bumps, both above and below, are harder, so I imagined the right pressure on my clit would not be questionable.
Its shape is simple, and so is its operation. Wave has just one button to turn it on and off and to switch between programs. I liked that it has only four programs and as many as six different vibration powers. I expected at least a good orgasm if not the explosion between my legs.
I still had a lot to do around the house on the day I wanted to try it out, so I decided to start by somehow squeezing it between my panties and the peach. I walked a little more like a cowboy because of its width, but Wave surprisingly stayed in place. Since I could barely feel the weaker vibrations, they were more of a tickle than real vibrations, I started warming up my clit with medium-strong ones. While Wave was pleasantly caressing every inch of my peach, I was sweeping and raking leaves around the house. So much for my easy, breezy summer days. Not once did the vibrator moved from its place. At the sounds of nature, the vibrator was barely audible. If, by chance, someone came by and accidentally detected a vibrating sound, I would just quickly start waving around my head, like there is an insect or something. That was my stupid plan.
The storm was coming, so I continued the game inside. Wave was slowly massaging my clit for fifteen minutes, but I didn't feel like I was close to orgasm. It was only when I helped myself with a hand that I noticed how nicely it fits my palm. With three consecutive presses of the on and off button, I came to the strongest vibration. Wave got a bit louder, but the difference between then and now was barely noticeable. There was only a slightly louder sound of silence. Although I could feel the bulge on the top of the vibrator well on my palm, I could not detect the bottom bump on my clit. It seemed to me that the inner part of the vibrator was flat. Even if I pressed it a little harder, I could still feel only the whole surface's vibration.
I thought I needed to increase the power of the vibrations. That's how I'll get to orgasm. However, instead of a higher vibration power, I came across patterns that were, as with most toys, iron classics. There were just a few of them, so I came quickly to the last one. That is all?
I guess that is all. Since the toy had already shown me everything it had to offer, I helped myself with a hand. Since that didn't do the trick either, I even turned the toy upside down. The bulge on the top is way bigger than the inner one, so I finally felt it pressuring on my clitoris. Unfortunately, holding the toy in that position was uncomfortable for my arm, so I put the vibrator back in its original position. While doing everything possible to reach an orgasm, I accidentally pull the vibrator a little too high, and the soft silicone tip of the leaf started flicking my button. That was it! A few more circular movements with the toy and an orgasm was getting closer.
In my next happy hours with this toy was happening the same. I was sorry that I could only use the flickering part of the whole toy - the tip. Although the vibrator is beautifully designed and inexpensive, it seems to me that the vibration powers are too weak, and the bulge on the inner side is too small for someone who regularly masturbates with toys to experience a quick and powerful orgasm. But Wave isn't all bad. It is quiet, gentle and fits perfectly to the palm, and covers the whole peach. Also, the ratio between the patterns and vibration powers was perfect for me. I would recommend it to beginners who are just acquainting with the big world of erotic toys.
You can no longer buy the vibrator at Lovehoney, but you can find it here: https://romp.toys/products/lay-on-wave/
