Artists on Instagram
No, these aren't the ones who post ten selfies and at least one photo of lunch and breakfast a day, just to remind us how perfect their lives are. I am thinking of those real artists I started following before Those Creamy Peaches blog was even created. I fell in love with the works of four authors of erotic art - Alicia Rihko, Apollonia Saintclair, Regards Coupables, and Petites Luxures.
Each of them is different, but they have one thing in common: their art is erotic and evokes that pleasant tingling between the legs. You could say they are occasionally even pornographic. So how do they thrive on Instagram, a social network that monitors and punishes everything related to sex? I have no idea. As long as they're there, every morning, after reviewing their new posts, I get up with a big smile on my face.
Alicia Rihko
Her works are best known for using pink color and sex - sex everywhere, in the car, in the library, in the shower. Although red is considered the color of passion today, the Spanish author from Seville says that pink is the color of eroticism, love, youth, and joy. She studied fashion design, but it wasn't enough for her. In her darkest period, she turned to digital illustrations, and like this, a pink series of erotic drawings were created. Besides sex, she illustrates naked bodies representing freedom and vulnerability at the same time. Her illustrations of sex are not about breaking taboos but about depicting sex as it is - something natural that provides pleasure. She summarized her illustrations and literary excerpts in Todas las mujeres dentro de mi (All the women inside me).
Apollonia Saintclair
She is a mysterious European who drove Tumblr public crazy with her works in 2012. She never wanted to reveal her identity, as she strictly separates private life and work. After a long break from illustrating, she shocked the world with satirical erotic drawings. These are always black and white, some would call them "old-school" today, and starring women masturbating with monsters, phones, guns, and other things. At first glance, innocent but confident women represent the reality in which we live, our hidden desires or fears. In her career, she has also collaborated with pornographic movie director Erika Lust. Besides that, her work and interviews have been published in magazines such as Nakid and Adult. She used to draw by hand, but today she does it digitally. I advise you to sit in front of the screen and just observe one of her works. I assure you that you will feel the warmth between your legs and notice and appreciate all the details. Although, in my opinion, she deviated a bit from the initial path by incorporating tentacles and various animals into her work, but luckily she soon returned to what attracted me most - women who proudly masturbate and they take control of their pleasure.
Regards Coupables (Guilty looks)
Every few days, a new illustration appears on Instagram. There is usually a couple on it kissing or enjoying sex. The advantage of his works is that he never draws genitals, and by doing so, he unlocks the viewer's imagination. On Sundays, however, it's time for Sunday’s Worship an illustration of a woman receiving oral sex. The author of French descent openly says that he is not interested in anatomy but sex as an act. He is also working on animation, and his works are exhibited in various galleries worldwide. Regards Coupables became the author's primary source of income, but he continues working as an art director and music producer.
Petites Luxures
Behind this name is another French man. About his work, he is saying:
"It's not pornography, it doesn't look like pornography, but sometimes the pictures show dirty things."
His drawings attracted me the most. There is something about them that I can identify with. Each one is equipped with a title, which is at the same time a word game related to sex. All his works are drawn on paper and then edited on the computer. The author has a similar philosophy as Regards Coupables - the lines and blank parts of the painting are the ones that make his drawings so engaging. By not being so explicit, he allows the viewer to use his imagination.
The path to their success was instant but thorny. Instagram is still closing their accounts today, despite many followers. One after another, based on anonymous reports. However, they still share a passion and joy for erotic art. Their followers are probably united by that pleasant feeling between their legs caused by their work.
